For your consideration, this TRUE vintage 1940s/50s handmade patchwork FOLK-ART quilt in an old traditional pattern called Log Cabin, this is the Barn Raising version -- and with the red centerpieces it is sometimes called Fire in the Cabin, symbolizing the importance of hearth and home -- highly VISUAL, using VIVID red, jewel-tones and multi-colors against creamy white -- this would be a PERFECT decor piece for any time of the year -- all 100% cotton fabrics, mostly dress scraps from the 40s/50s-era -- nice straight edges, narrowly bin in red and backed in the same creamy white cotton used on the front -- VERY thin with light-weight batting which is definitely 100% cotton -- the quilt measures 70" x 90", and was both hand and machine-pieced and then machine-quilted in a small grid/block pattern -- everything well-executed, while still maintaining a fabulous FOLK-ART presence -- in VERY EXCELLENT vintage condition -- light wear/gentle usage -- strong, sturdy, everything intact -- colors CRISP and VIBRANT -- NICE and CLEAN, maybe some light surface soil and really saying that for good measure -- nothing else to report -- these old beauties are getting harder and harder to find -- this quilt would be PERFECT for country farmhouse or Victorian decors, laid across your bed, stacked in your quilt cabinet, or CELEBRATED by displaying on the wall as a great piece of TEXTILE ART! -- a true collector's piece....
