The Log Cabin quilt became popular, and was identified with the pioneer spirit and values of America! Thus, when looking at each hand-pieced, and quilted block in this quilt, it was not a surprise that the maker of this quilt, ensured there was a Red, White, and Blue block, with a hand made little USA flag, made from scraps, in the likeness of the USA flag! This amazing quilt measures 67X77 inches. The pattern has been made according to the original Log Cabin quilt block pattern; using strips of dark and light fabric that represent the walls of a log cabin; and the use of a red strip of fabric in the center, to represent the hearth and fire. This quilt has been made with hand-stitching and quilting.
There are three areas that will require minor mending and one light stain. (See the last 3-4 pic with my fingers pointing to areas) The quilt has been backed with a heavy, sturdy fabric, that coordinates with the quilt top fabrics. This quilt is estimated to have been made during the 1920-30s Era. It is very unusual to find a vintage quilt of this quality; that replicates the original pattern, and historical methods to complete a vintage quilt such as this. AND it is not faded. Even the black, blues and reds!!! In pictures you may see light spots but thats just the sun because of outside pic! A quilt collectors treasure indeed.
