Made In KY in late 1800s to early 1900s. Log Cabin pattern in Wool. The quilt is tied with colored yarns. Each log cabin piece is about one half inch finished. This is extremely small for pieced wool.
The wool colors are rich and beautiful. Purple yellows maroon, red, gray and tan. There is provenance given to me by an heir to the bride. The quilt was given to a bride in 1975. The bride and groom were in their middle to late 60s.
The grooms family Ben L. Curry had made the quilt and it was already vintage when he gave it to his bride. The tacking may have been replaced sometime after it was made, which is reasonable for a quilt this old. The item "Antique Wool Quilt.
