This graphically strong 75 1/2 x 83 1/2 quilt pattern is the Log Cabin variation Diamond With Four Squares. The front fabric appears to be a coarse wool serge in 5/8 to 3/4 strips in tan, red, black, light blue, green, dark olive green, and dark teal. The 6" border has 8 strips and a 3/8" binding on front & 3/4 on back. The back fabric is cotton gingham mostly in 2 brown checks with a few blue check pieces. It has no interior lining or stuffing, and consists of the border on all 4 sides and 8 separate 8 squares across & 9 vertically.
As stated there are a few small worn areas in front as well as some very light staining. We did not attempt to clean this. The quilt appears to be all hand stitched.
It shows little wear & we would rate it as good plus to excellent given its age. Based on the estate this came from, its origin is Pennsylvania or Ohio.
